Kind of hard to take a picture of, but here is the cup in the mount hole on the TW helmet.

I'm finding flip open portion of the BC caps are getting in the way of each other while focusing with duals (love them on PVS-14).  Any other options other than the standard pinhole?   Hoplite seems like it would have the same problem that the BC caps do when both are flipped open.

Can't you just re-orientate the BC Cap on the objective lens to make them work. How much adjustment are you needing that this would not be an option.

I don't run duals (eta, anymore!! But when I did...) I never had an issue with that.

Set both objectives to infinity by looking into space (don't forget to exclaim "ohhhhhhh, spaaaaace, yeah!")

Now put the buttler creeks on so the objectives flip UP. Now you know that the hinge on the cap while oriented to 12 o'clock is an ~infinity focus.

I used heated up 5.56 cases to melt pinholes in the butler creeks and I can see my feet, edges of stairs, gate latches well enough to latch/unlatch. I only really have to adjust the lenses if I needed to read something or i'm in a basement with no light and have to run the caps open.

Makes sense that it would work that way. I just got them yesterday and only had a few minutes last night to try them out; noticed the caps kept getting in the way while trying to get everything adjusted.  Then browsed back through this thread and the noticed BC caps seem to be more common on -14 than duals.

I should get more time tonight to experiment further

ETA:  New (to me) Sents.  The factory FDE finish is wearing thin but otherwise in great shape and respectable specs.  Factory built omni VIII thin-filmed green that came along at a price I couldn't refuse.  Weather needs to improve so I can try them out for more than a few minutes.

Currently $15.  If you watch them they will drop to $9.  Put velcro through a vent hole and tighten.  I added a zip tie for good measure and it's on there solid.

I’m running a lightweight bridge from mod armory but I’ve always had my eye on an RQE or a Wilcox but I’ve never laid eyes on one and there aren’t many pictures of them online aside from “stock photos” does anyone have pics of these bridges mounted that they could share? Or if I’ve missed them in the previous pages, if someone could direct me to it I’d appreciate it!

Try to route the Peltor cable on the inside of the helmet, keeps snag potential to a minimum.

@Branman530 can you give a review of the MOD Armory Lightweight Bridge please? I'm in the market for one of those myself but I haven't found too much info outside the website. Also if you're interested in moving that bridge lemme know as well.

@stonecutter6 I took some pics of the setup this morning. I recently durakoted the bridge and I’m liking the finish pretty well. As far as the dual 14’s go, I seem to be in the minority who prefers the dual 14 setup (due to having zero hunting buddies with nvg’s to do night shenanigans with). When I’m alone and in the field with the dual setup I have never noticed the weight, as the bridge folds back against the helmet when not in use and really distributes the weight well. I’d venture to say, when in the stowed position, dual 14’s folded back against the helmet are more comfortable than dedicated “fixed” Binos when stowed. Granted, that’s just my opinion, but I’ve noticed when they’re stowed and not folded back, they’re very noticeable, but when you push them back against the helmet you really get that “ahhhh much better” feeling. When I reinstall the bridge mount I do have to tinker with the tightness and alighnment to get them to view the same image (think daytime binoculars). I’m not sure if this is technically “collimated” but my eyes have never known the difference. I’ve never had any eye strain whatsoever with this setup. I also run a gun mounted REAP-IR and I usually fold up the right pvs14 to look through thermal. With the shuttered eyepiece on the reap, I have to push my eye too close to the scope and there is a little interference with the pvs14 and the top of the scope. I alleviate this by a butler creek cap when running duals so I can keep my head back a little and still get a sight picture. I’ve had a little wobble issue out of the setup and I actually feel that it’s in the Wilcox helmet mount, so I utilize the bungees on the mtek. I honestly don’t know that I would change much with the bridge mount, granted, it’s not one of the new TNVC powered bridges, but it serves its purpose well. It doesn’t power off when stowed, which is a feature I’d like, but aside from that, the mount is flawless. I’ll attach the new pics as well, hope that helps! I say the bridge setup is good to go for my use, as I’m not as high-speed low-drag as others I suppose. I’m sure I’d be happier with a dedicated bino setup, but having never ran a pair; I don’t know what I’m missing. If you think about it in the grand scheme of things, if weight is a huge factor, you could always run a bump helmet instead of a ballistic and ear plugs instead of electronic muffs and save more overall weight than that of dual 14’s vs Binos. Dual 14’s on the lightweight bridge work for me. YMMV. Hope this helps someone In the same boat I was in a few years back!

I like that the QD mount sits lower. They seem plenty secure.

I've got all qd's for my ltp and I think it's the best way to go. Easier and faster to switch back/forth so when not shooting you have rails with lights. Plus when transporting you can leave your helmet slick and put all your qd stuff in a padded case or whatnot
