There have been several threads in the past; here is a chance to consolidate current concepts for the topic.

Ballistic rig on the left, scout rig on the right.  The plates are both bolted down to keep from changing position, with the top strap minimizing stress on that joint, as well as providing a very convenient place to ty-rap the Guardians.

The MSA rig is balanced on a styrofoam mannequin head with the PVS both up and down; it is like that on a real head as well.

Edited to add a couple shots with the CSM bracket:

Updated with the do rag replacement pic.

Mind if I ask how your experience has been with the Ops Core bump helmet and dual tubes?  I've been wondering if there would be any issue with the weight of dual tubes on a non-carbon bump.

Thanks!

Not who you asked but many people run duals on a plastic bump, including me.

Not an issue, actually need less counterweight than a lighter carbon.

Yep no problem. I ran dual 14s for awhile with no issues.

This isn't exactly what you asked, but I use the Wilcox G69 mount for my nods and it comes with its own shroud, so I replaced the MBS with ease. Same three-hole pattern you'd expect.

Thanks shelbyguns and ARShooter91 for the replies!  Good to hear from people who have them. I'll probably pick up a plain bump with some 4D pads and call it a day.

Is my best bet to go with MSA Sordins with Unity Tactical adapters on my Team Wendy Exfil? Ops core amp are way out of my price range, and it seems like Comtac 3s have been steadily climbing in price.

Well depends on what “they” are.... just kidding 🤪

I like to run mine high so I can easily look under them and keep situational awareness and better peripheral vision. I run them at work high and just got use to it. The angle they are I can just move my eyes up and see perfect or look under and tilt my head back slightly and get a good view under.

that is what I have on my TW back up... it is a little more complicated to set up  but works well. I used the iron forged adapters to clip things together...

I found some hearing defenders for a somewhat reasonable price. I don't need the comms atm, so I get the parts to make them comms compatible in the future. That might be the plan. I am not sure yet

I have a M1 and a V1. The M1 has a nice clean hot spot. It’s not as bright as the V1. For me it works better as a helmet navigation light. There isn’t as much backsplash from foliage.

Those are about as old-school as you get (at least still being Gen. 3)--an old AN/AVS-6(v)1 housing that is more a match for the rifle.

i tried both the unity marks and the peltor quick release mounts and stuck with the peltor's ,  being able to click them out to get some air to your ears is worth the price of admission

Any other headsets? Which comtacs? Sordins? Peltor 6s would be awesome. Dont really need comms on helmet right now.

Edit i see jws post with sordins. Im in... Was gonna chop up some 6s but id prefer a non destructive option. 6s appeal to me bcus no wire between.

@Shelbysguns, currently it will be a non-destructive option for Sordins/Liberators and normal Comtacs, maybe howard leights if interest is expressed

I disliked the Unity mounts. I want to love the peltor mounts but after a while they just start popping out very easily. I’m starting to research how to mount my comtacs to the AMP arms.

Nice. I was going to order the airsoft knockoffs. I don't need comms, just like the mounting method better w/ the arms.

What would you guys recommend for this w/o comms? Sordins? Ordering the arms from ops-core now, guess I'll be waiting for this adapter as well.

If budget is a concern howard leights with gell cups.

If you want better sound then non comm sordins or hearing defender comtacs. $300 ish plus $100 arms and whatever adapters cost.
