There have been several threads in the past; here is a chance to consolidate current concepts for the topic.

Ballistic rig on the left, scout rig on the right.  The plates are both bolted down to keep from changing position, with the top strap minimizing stress on that joint, as well as providing a very convenient place to ty-rap the Guardians.

The MSA rig is balanced on a styrofoam mannequin head with the PVS both up and down; it is like that on a real head as well.

Edited to add a couple shots with the CSM bracket:

Updated with the do rag replacement pic.

Latest mods...some paint and an M600C/KM2:

Looks pretty home made to me, like they just chopped up some plastic/kydex or thin metal and sandwiched it behind that little chunk of picatinny.

It's homemade using a sheet of kydex and the Ops Core flashlight mount.

Do those people have them back in stock fairly often? I actually was about to buy them from kosher surplus and it went out of stock, figured it was a one time sale for that price.

I have no idea. My best guess is that vendors are blowing them out for good as the Comtac Vs are the new normal.

I’m currently running an X300V on a thorntail picatinny offset mount on my Team Wendy LTP 3.0. The way the team Wendy peltor adapter sits on the helmet an X300V can’t be used without an offset mount. When I look through my PVS14 the IR light is up way too high and I would have to tilt my head down at an angle to scan fields. Is there a better way to angle the X300V to be more in line with my line of sight? I’ve looked at the peltor compatible unity remora, but I absolutely hated my unity marks so I’m hesitant to try anything else from them.

There is a unity remora for use with the peltor adapter. This may help.

Echo arms Velcro backed helmet mount. You could position the light perfectly with one of these. Just tie off the light with a lanyard made of some thin dyneema and secure somewhen on the ARC rail.

I was looking at doing something similar, but on a Ops Core FAST bump. I thought about using a Thyrm VariArc mount to get the light to rotate. Only thing I was worrying about was it putting the light a little further out.

These other Echo arms offerings look very promising as well. Low profile and you can place it exactly where you want.

If your ok with buying or supporting a Company that has no issues taking away your GOD given rights then that's on you brother

Overall TW makes a very good helmet, OP will be very happy with it. I'm just glad he didn't buy new and support a terrible company

I am a ham,

Baofengs are pretty low on the list these days for HT's(even though I have a few), more interested in getting my Yaesu FT3 working with it. The only thing keeping me from going with the amp is the PTT and ability to connect to amature radios since I will never be in the encrypted radio crew. I will pull the trigger if anyone else can confirm, although this is most likely a custom SRS job more than likely.

fwiw I have had two factory 31 packs kill AA's with strobe turned off and unplugged from goggle.  Only way I was able to stop it from happening was to remove the cable from the cwbp side.

That's terrible considering who's mostly using those battery packs.

Has there ever been a problem with packs (any, not just 31) putting out too much voltage? I checked mine with a meter before using them but have wondered if it is an issue or not. Figure this is a good segue, lol

Can I use the Bnvd Y cable(coti) with the AB LPBP?

Might be worth a grab if they go on sale, might be a better counterweight than the 31 pack is.

Came up with this simple counterweight with a friend and he made it. Also used some stainless filler wire and bungee cord for retention, I always hated using the lanyard. Waiting on a caiman ballistic to show up then this will be a loaner helmet.

I think their MSRP from ops-core was about $1600.  Arms Unlimited sold a bunch that were probably a contract overrun for $850 each a couple years ago.
