There have been several threads in the past; here is a chance to consolidate current concepts for the topic.

Ballistic rig on the left, scout rig on the right.  The plates are both bolted down to keep from changing position, with the top strap minimizing stress on that joint, as well as providing a very convenient place to ty-rap the Guardians.

The MSA rig is balanced on a styrofoam mannequin head with the PVS both up and down; it is like that on a real head as well.

Edited to add a couple shots with the CSM bracket:

Updated with the do rag replacement pic.

I boogered up my floater and didn't feel like going back out for a straighter image. I was trying to avoid my reflection in the filters. Did my best to clone out the tripod but I'm terrible in photoshop so the clones of the brick wall in the bacground aren't necessarily clean.

New ballistic helmet. Thought I’d roll the dice on one of those bulletproof-it helmets. So far it seems like a decent helmet but the lack of information on bfd makes me a bit skeptical. At least I can tear this one up training and keep my good ones in the gun room.

Playing with the 22lr at night. It’s nice to not need hearing protection, really streamlines a simple helmet setup.

Using it as a counter weight, it has 4 aa sized tungsten rods totaling about 15oz to balance the goggles. Im still waiting for an opportunity to send my RNVG in to get the external power port installed.

Refinishing Mount?

I've got a black Rhino II and (for vanity) want it FDE or CB - it's literally the only thing I have to paint, so shelling out for Spray Can Duracoat is making me cringe (because it can't sit unused after activating). I have Wheeler Ceramacoat, but it needs baking at something like 300' for 30 minutes - is there anything in the mount that isn't metal? If I have to resort to "Spray Paint" - is Aervoe worth it, or just go Krylon/Rustoleum camo? What kind of prep? Figured more guys here would know about mounts, vs the refinishing forum. Thanks!

If you are trying to get it perfect go with one of those methods. Otherwise, grab some Rustoleum camo spray in the color of your choice, and just spray paint it.

This is my helmet setup last year. It has some changes to it since then. I am also working on finishing up an Ops Core Maritime that I will post up when ready.

Here's mine. Sorry I lack the rad helmet suspended in air look.

Ops Core Bump
Peltor Hearing Defenders with ARC rail attachment
Wilcox G24
TNVC Mohawk
V-Lite (IR)
Echo Arms mount with a Streamlight IR Flashlight mounted using a Magppul V-Block
Orion Design Group Helmet Cover

Still needs NODs. Hopefully I'll have the funds together soon. It's been one setback after another.
