There have been several threads in the past; here is a chance to consolidate current concepts for the topic.
Ballistic rig on the left, scout rig on the right. The plates are both bolted down to keep from changing position, with the top strap minimizing stress on that joint, as well as providing a very convenient place to ty-rap the Guardians. The MSA rig is balanced on a styrofoam mannequin head with the PVS both up and down; it is like that on a real head as well. 
Edited to add a couple shots with the CSM bracket:

Plenty of battery storage and with the weights removed and the battery sleeve removed I can fit my external battery pack inside for powering my GoPro. The only downside and this isn't TNVC's fault, is that there is not a lot of Velcro under the cock portion on the TW mesh cover. Other than that I love it! I just picked up an NVM14 for half retail NIB and got it mounted.
 It uses a different mount than standard issue J-Arm etc but I was able to tap the mount on the monocle and it works great! I have a weapon mount on the way as well. Man I wish the flip to the side mount wasn't so expensive!! Anyway, I do have a couple questions. Most of my optics are NV capable but I use my NV on my off eye. It works great except that I can not get a sight picture with the NV deployed. The end of the NV touches mt weapon and prevents me from getting a good sight picture through my optic. I can easily retract the NV and carry on (my helmet and Comtacs don't interfere.) So what is the SOP on this? What is the most practical way to go from NV operations to a solid target acquisition? FYI, I have this issue on many different platforms, from subguns (MP5, UMP, M10) to carbines (AK, AR, G3, Aug, Tavor etc) so I don't think it is that. Perhaps it requires an artificially high mounted optic?

Long story short: Weapon mounted IR laser, helmet mounted NV over the non-dominated eye. Lots of discussion of this in the forum that should be easy to find with a little searching. |

I orient the fresh batteries in my ballast pouch in the correct polarity. When one dies I replace it in the reverse polarity so that I do not loose ballast.
