I've got a Gen 2+ yukon monocular. Its nice, clear, and I got mine for a hell of a deal brand new in box. Its really small which is nice, but the field of view isn't that large. It can be mounted on a weapon and sighted with a laser, but I've got a head set for mine. Works well with NV compatible optics. With the headset you really need to configure it for your head, its not very comfortable unless you get it just right, mostly because of its weight.
http://home.swbell.net/bwettach/Gen2NV.jpg here's a picture I took putting my digicam up to the eyepiece. I can't say the same of any gen 1 monocular, but I wouldn't waste any time or money with Gen  1. They are good for first timers, but they are really mediocre in general

Yeah I got a Gen. 1 Yukon 2x24.

Good image for the burbs or the city, or general survelance. Actually a very well constructed unit. Rugged and good buttons.

If you can live with a Gen. 1 tube, it's a decent basic NV device.

I live out in the country with little ambient light, so I need a Gen 2 or 3.
