Just came home and found my little girl had jumped up to the kitchen table and ate my form 4!!!! I'm not happy....

The little devil!!!!

The paperwork was sent back for a correction... I'm going to have and reprint it and have signatures done again... The stamp was not on this paperwork yet thank god!!!

Sorry, but that is classic.

I remember entering my kitchen and smelling....beer. Then I noticed the fine mist.

The puppy had discovered a thirty pack of beer on the floor and put her needle teeth into all the cans she could reach. The beer was hissing out in fine streams.

no i understand the NFA process, i was asking pretty much what if your original form 4/1 with the stamp on it was lost, destroyed or eaten?

They send you a certified copy of the form with no stamp on it.

You have to forward these pics along with the corrected form back. You will have them rolling on the floor laughing.

No. The stamp is proof that you have paid the tax, but a certified copy of the form is also legal proof of payment, even though there is no stamp on it.

The $200 stamp is like currency: If your dog eats a $100 bill, you can't just go to the bank and ask them to give you another one for free.

As far as buying a second $200 stamp, ATF will not sell them outright –– they must be attached to a Form 1/4 and cancelled. And you cannot transfer it again to yourself, because you already own it. The only way to get another stamp is to form a second entity, like a corp or trust, and transfer it from you to the trust via a $200-tax-due Form 4.
