i posted this in GD : duplicate thread  but haven't gotten much response.    anyone here?

I have this gun: savage 93. It is a .17 hmr, and i want to put a suppressor on it. I have stripped the gun down to the tubular receiver and the barrel. Yes, i removed the barrel/ receiver pin. now i want to pull the receiver off- is it threaded or a slip fit? does the receiver have to be heated to remove it?

anyone done this before?

I'd do that, but the guy that threads for my suppressors (5" long can) likes to indicate on the bore from both directions so that way outon the suppressors last baffle the hole is lined up with where the bullet is traveling.   It is what he is used to doing, and it works for him, so i'm trying to do it that way.
