I'd vote for the .22 can. You'll soon want the Evo-9 as well, but the .22 is a very cool starting point.
The Outback II is a great can. So is the Pilot. We sell cans from different manufacturers, but stock the AAC products. I think they are exceptional cans.
I went with a Pilot for my own personal .22 can and shoot it on a Walther P22 (which I don't really like) and a Marvel upper on one of my Kimber lowers. Now THAT is an asweome setup. It is very accurate and very quiet with the Pilot.
I also bought an Evo-9 for my G19. I'm running that with a KKM barrel. The accuracy with the KKM barrel with and without the can is great. The Evo does have an indexing capability so you can control your POI shift a bit and have consistent PI shift. The can is very well made and I've had no cycling problems. Since I'm using a Glock I am using the piston adapter that helps with cycling. One of my partners has the same G19 setup but also has a full-auto MP5PDW. We simply swap the piston assembly for the fixed barrel adapter and can shoot the Evo-9 on the PDW. So, if you think you might someday get a 9mm AR, you could use the Evo on that as well.
If you were down here in GA I'd offer to let you come test drive the Pilot and the Evo. I think you'd walk away wanting both.
Maybe ask in your Hometown forum to see if there are any local guys with some cans you could try.
Best of luck to you.
