Generally speaking, an SBR will have a buttstock, while an AOW will not.

A regular AR-15 rifle with a barrel less than 16" is considered an SBR. The lower receiver is the registered part. Your short barrels can only be used on it, not any other non-registered lowers.

SBR - $200 to build, $200 to transfer to someone else.

AOW - $200 to build, $5 to transfer to someone else.

Yes.

What's odd is that my state (Indiana) allows all NFA items except SBS's. I can only have a short barrel on a shotgun IF it has a pistol grip.
