Class III = NFA dealer
Class II = Manufacturer (can also deal)
Class I = Importer (can also deal)

Thanks.  So I suppose there is no Class 4 and so on?  And are there any code numbers for different type of "prohibs"?  Such as full-auto, silencers, above .50 caliber, short barreled long arms, short barreled pistols?

No, except it takes a different type of FFL/SOT to deal/manufacture/import Destructive Devices.

Machineguns, silencers, AOWs, short-barreled shotguns, & short-barreled rifles are all covered by an the same FFL/SOT. (wether dealer/manufacturer/importer)

There is no such thing as a "short barreled pistol".

So there are no federal or state limitations on the length of pistol barrels?

And does this mean that it's technically incorrect to say "Class 3 Firearm"?
