Had an empty carriage sitting in the corner, so . . .















1841 6-pounder gun.

No breech plug, gun is bored from a solid 1018 cold rolled steel round. 19" overall length, 1.025" bore (fires a 1" ball), weighs 20 pounds.
Cold blued with Birchwood Casey Super Blue (still oily in the photo).

Will fire it's first salute this Sunday (11/11/18).

Video. For some reason the camera shut off just after the last shot, barely caught the shot.

As you can see, gun needs to be on a flat surface and restrained even with a blank load (1 ounce GOEX Fg). In that rough, it would have flipped.



PS: If you watch the thundermug, you can see it jump.
