Vkt/SA stamped. 1942 on barrel, eagle on hex receiver, shiny bore with strong rifling. Pics later.
No import marks. Found a CAI mark on right side of barrel, very faint. $265 OTD at local fun show. How'd I do?

Even if the bore isn't in the greatest condition you got a steal. These guns have been regularly selling for almost twice your price. You did very well my friend.
The imperial eagle is still intact on your receiver...most were ground off. Way cool! Bill |

So curiosity got the better of me and I disassembled it. I still need to do a wipe down and minor cleaning, but its pretty damn nice under the wood. The tang shows the reciever to be Izzy, made in 1898
 , looks like I've got a safe queen here until I get my bench set up. Not too sure about putting modern Wolf or Tula through something 115 years old, no matter how much faith I have in the design.

It's perfectly fine. also being 1898, I believe it is a antique too, which means it ain't technically a firearm

Did your furniture come that pretty or did you make it that way? If you did, how? came that way.. all i did was put some howard feed and wax. Which is safe for all finishes, just more of a preserver than anything. Many Antique gun collectors swear by it, and i have to agree with them.

If you can, take it out in the cold and snow so it will feel at home.

+1 on shooting it. My '43 Sako has a '96 Tula receiver and shoots like a champ. I also have a '43 Tula hex 91/30 built on a '95 Izhevsk receiver that's one of my most accurate 91/30s. They built them like tanks and they still function as such, today.

The nearest rifle friendly range to me is about 30 minutes away, I'll try to find some time tomorrow to take it down there and put a box through it. My wife's 10/22 needs its red dot zeroed anyway. No snow here thankfully, but it is cold, and I'm going to have to find all kinds of motivation to go out in it. I'm a wuss.
