I went to the range this morning and shot my SMLE .303.  here it is.



I was shooting some Paki military surplus, mostly dated in the early 1960s, and had some Prvi ammo also.



That's the Paki stuff on the right and the Prvi ammo on the left.  The Paki ammo has shot "okay" for us and is typical in accuracy of mixed milsurp ammo.

Here's a 10 shot group, actually two 5 shot groups on top of each other, shot at 50 yards.



Not "great", but not too bad for 50 year old milsurp.

I had the box of Prvi ammo and thought I'd shoot a group and see if there was much improvement in the group.  Here it is.



That is a 5 shot group, and shows a dramatic improvement over the old milsurp.

Conclusion:  If you want to really test the accuracy of your rifle, you need to use better ammo.

Doesn't surprise me at all.

I have long reloaded .303 Brit ammo.

My reloads are not more accurate than the Prvi that I shot today.  It seems to be very good stuff.

My old buddy Tman and I had heard bad reports about the Paki ammo, but got some to try.  To our surprise, it shot better than some other milsurp ammo that we tried.  In fact, it often shoots the best of the milsurp I shoot, especially if I segregate it by date.
