What is a fair price on a (Serial# 9855XX) 1942 M1 Garand that has been rebuilt with a .308 barrel. It looks like a brand new gun. I have no idea who built it. Whoever did built it did a excellent job. Thanks

The obvious answer is,"The less, the better". At ~$600 I think you'd be safe. More than that and You have to ask yourself how badly you want it.

I had DGR rebarrel my CMP M1 with a Douglas match barrel. Shoots great but was an expensive project.
