Anyone know anything more about this (aside from what's on the site, and the fact that's it's $$$)...

This is 7.62x54R U.S. Government Contract 147gr. FMJ Ammo. This ammo was made for the U.S. Government under a contract for Iraq. This ammo is brass cased, non-corrosive and has a 100% non-magnetic FMJ bullet. This ammo can be fired at any gun range because it gas a non-magnetic bullet. This ammo is packed in 15rd. boxes, 420rds. per ammo can.

Look here (Ammuniton To Go site...it's safe)

I belive it is Privi or Ingman Manuf and Boxer primed.  Should be good stuff, but for premium ammo in that caliber I reload.

I bought a box of it and it grouped real well out of my 91/30. It looks just like the 1970's Yugo with the red primer sealant.

Thats actually not a terrible price for new, non corrosive, reloadable, quality 7.62X54R ammo IMHO. Yea you can get the WWII or later combloc stuff cheaper, but if I hadnt put a pistol on layaway at the funshop today I would order a case of the stuff.

I  bought a few cans awhile back to fire thru bolt actions.  Accurate out of the box, and on the 4th reloading of the 45 rds. I 'm messing with.  I pulled 3 boxes out of a can just to test them and see how many reloads they will last.  So far I'm real pleased, too bad it's so expensive.

On the same page, they list the Prvi Partizan for $10 per 20,
so that $75 for the same quantity, so you'll save a few bucks.

(Actually, I think the Prvi is a better deal, since you get a 182 grn bullet
compared to 147 grn with the "surplus" stuff.)

ETA: That's an extra 3/4 pounds of lead. Or about $1.75 worth on the commodities market.

At .46 per round, that stuff is as expensive as SA 7.62x51.

Even the overpriced ruskie 7N1 is much cheaper than that stuff.

I miss read it the first time, thought that that price was for a cane of 420 rounds.
