i doubt the russians, accustomed to their mosin safeties, were very bothered.

Hopefully mine will look like that once I get that Russian crap off the stock. My safety was broken off in the box when the rifle came. They sent me a new one free. It is a simple installation. The safety is 1k better than a mosin safety. Nice rifle.

My friend just lent me a trashed turkish mauser safety that I am useing on it till they get me a replacement one.

Very nice. I love shooting my 1939 K98. It belonged to my father-in-law and his dad before that. He got his first deer with it. When I got it all that was left was a barreled action and a bolt. Spent a ton of money restoring it with all original parts.

Ebay is also a good source for parts.
