LOL! If you don't have an opener on hand, do what I do, find a Marine they can get in to just about anything! I have a buddy that was a Marine, and I usually wait 'til he shows up, and tell him I need a couple opened up.
He tells me us Army guys are wusses, however I've never told him I can get one open, but find it easier for him to do it.

I used a flat head screwdriver and a hammer. punch a hole in the top right next to the rim, and then "chisel" the lid off sideways around the rim. If you start near one end, you can just chisel up one end of the lid and bend it back and pull all the ammo out of one side.
don't cut yourself though, it can get pretty sharp and pointy. |

Just used the ole' Flat head and rubber mallot setup like MRW mentioned.
took about an hour probably.  was very careful and still cut my hand in 2 places.

Par for the course, but you'll get quicker (though more cut up) with practice. This is why I've never understood people who buy Wolf or whatever in the cans when they're just going to blast it up. Yea it's sort of cool, but for anything but long term storage it's a prime pain in the ass. |

A pair of tin snips will work.
I bought some 7.62X54R, yellow tip a while back and thought I was going to have to call in an air strike to get it open.  |

Last time I ordered a few cans from century, then included some can opening thing, worked like a charm only took a few minutes to almost compeltely remove the top.

I like to grind the "lip" off with an angle grinder. Leaves a clean edge, and I can use the can for storing stuff (no ragged edges).
