Nice contrast between the 2.  The top one looks like a light colored walnut and the bottom looks like stained beech?

I have 6 K31's, 3 beech and 3 walnut.  None of the beech stocks has more grain than the walnuts.  If the bottom one is walnut, it is the blandest piece of walnut I have seen,  (no grain in wood).  Some walnut stocks on these rifles are very light in color.  So you just can't go by dark and light wood, especially after they have been refinished.
