What kind of wood is this?  The hand guards are walnut but the stock is something I have not seen before.

It appears to be European Walnut.  Very nice figuring.

Is that one of the Greek or Daish bringbacks? I got a Danish with some real peculiar wood.

It is a SA USGI Field Grade and not one of the Greek loaners, although it sure looks like European wood.

CMP is doing a lot of back room build ups of the M1's right now.  You are likely to get any kind of parts and wood on the USGI guns now.
