Was cleaning out a closet and found this magazine. doesn't seem to fit anything I currently own. It does hold 20 rounds of 7.62x54R ammo. But I don't know that's what it's for.

Don't quote me on this one, but it looks to me like it's a Bren mag. I have 5 at home for an aborted project, and it looks similar. It would be a 30rnd mad for the .303 Brit. That's my best guess, anyone know for sure?

Bren mags hold 30 rounds plus it would be 303 Brit not 7.62 Russian.  Not sure what it goes to.

Ok, I took out the russian stuff and tried some .303 Brit. Held 30 rounds of it. Also took off the floor plate. The follower spring is made of flat metal and is accordian shaped. Kind of like a mauser rifle magazine spring, only REALLY long.

Are Brens semi auto or full auto? I've never owned one. If it's full auto I can't imagine why I'd have a mag for it. Any idea what it's worth, or where I could find out?

IT's a Bren mag. Not worth a whole lot, maybe $15 or $20?

The Bren was a light machine gun, made by the Brits. It was top-fed via a magazine. One of the most reliable and accurate LMG's ever made, but hard to manufacture...hence their demise.

Here's what one looks like:

Could be a mag for the Finnish Lahti Saloranta M26 LMG.

Note to self...Bren mag holds 20 rounds of 7.62x54....hmmmm

Anyone want to see if it fits in their Romak 3/SSG-97 rifle?  It already has the rock-in mag catch!
