Say I am looking at a M48BO Mauser. How do I tell if it is a new production Yugo or a scrubbed Kar98K? Other than the small difference in barrel length. I know at one point they called the scrubbed Kar98K a M98/48N but I don't think all captures were named this.

I wish obershutze916 would buy me a Mauser.

On a real m48 there will be wood between the bolt and the front sight.
Also, 98k's have that disc type thing on the stock for removing the firing pin in the field, the m48 does not have that.
98k's bolts are also blued, m48's are not

m48's are a little beefier (the stock) than k98's.  it shouldn't be too hard to tell the difference.
