Any suggestions on a good C&R .22 pistol, and where they might be available?  I'm looking for something that will work reliably, mainly for teaching new shooters and plinking - doesn't have to be super accurate, and hopefully not too expensive either.  I've heard of Hi-Standard and the Colt Woodsman, but don't know much about either of them.

Cheap C&R's in 22 lr are scarce. If you have Browning HP's or 1911 I would top them with 22lr conversion units at under $200.00 each. One can find them reasonable on the auction sites if patience is used.
You will get target accuracy with these units and your C&R's will not be harmed.
