Thinking this would be a fun range toy. What's available to buy/build? Thanks.

Ruger Charger Pistol - BRACE YOURSELF! https://coppercustom.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1046 |

I have to say it is a nice part by copper customs and worth the cost fit and finish are excellent the color on mine was a bit off but does not bother me in the slightest. I added it and the arm brace before I even shot it.

I'm building one with a PMACA chassis, just waiting on my Gear Head Works mod2 to come in.
|
|
i did mine with PMACA chassis and ACE folding stock adapter. it's money.

Changed the little one up a little. Not finished with the big one.
Things to add to the big one: 1. Medium size scope thinking the new $200 Leupold 3-9 x 40 rimfire model. 2. Probably a 1 piece offset mount. Maybe the Tac Sol mount. 3. I think I will be adding the carbon fiber handguard that PMACA has for $100. That handguard will stick past my barrel by about an inch. |

I have a Charger takedown with the green mtn stock and wanted a brace but didn’t want to lose the stock.
I had an SB47 brace in my parts bin which slips right between the grip and stock like an AK pistol. The rear taper of the factory stock slips in the opening of the stock tube. I replaced the A2 grip with a BCM gunfighter grip and cut the top down about 1/8” to account for the thickness of the SB bracket. I replaced the SB rubber brace portion with a Shockwave blade and dimpled the tube, it’s a solid mount. |
|
Who makes a 10/22 takedown stock that will accept an AR buffer tube and shockwave blade?

The Tan one:
1. PMACA muilt chassis 2. Standard ruger Charger pistol 3. SS .920" diameter barrel that I shortend to about 10". 4. American Built side folder assembly. 5. Damage Iindustries pistol buffer tube. 6. Gear head works Tail hook mod 1 brace. 7. Modified Daniel Defense pistol grip. Standard mount rail and cheap rings. |

View Quote Any reason why you used the american built side folder? It seem pretty expensive for what it is, unless i am overlooking something that it does better than others. Also, what length and diameter pistol buffer tube did you use from damage industries? As they sell several different versions. Do you know about the exact length of the barrel as i was thinking of using the Kidd 10 inch barrel if it is long enough to be able to use a vertical grip |

It fits the talhook nicely, but may be a little small for a SB tactical type brace. It seems to be about 7.25" overall. I didn't take t apart to get an exact length. I like the Hera Arms SFU and the American built folder. The american built one locks in both positions and I like that...not a necessity, but a nice perk. I like the quality of the machining, the finish is very nice and they seem very well made. These PMACA chassis are nice enough to deserve the nicer hinge...in my opinion. The length of the hinge also helps get me to my 26+" OAL. I don't even know if the VFG will stay there, but want to try it. It may be replaced with a small light weight folding bipod once I get the scope on it. |

I don't want you to feel like i am trying to rip off your build! I have been trying to build something almost exactly like that for a while now. But no one had that combo of parts. Now i jut need someone to make something similar but with the PMACA Long nose chassis, possibly with an atlas bipod and a vert grip on at the same time. I was originally thinking of actually using the PWS Summit action with a short 1-9 twist barrel. Just dont know what scope would go well with that combo. |
|
No problem, I actually set out ro use the long nose for this longer build, but could never find one in stock, unless I wanted gold or red.

In case anyone is interested. I added the CF handguard and a budget scope to my "long" build.
Done now, unless the scope sucks;) Attached File |

What is the muzzle device on your shorter, all black charger? Top one in the first set of pics? |

My takedown model uses a Hera Arms folding stock unit mated to a Copper Custom AR buffer tube adapter. The gun, 4 25rd mags, the factory 15rd mag, a 10rd mag all fit into a Cabela's deluxe double handgun case, with 600rds in the 2 pockets on the front. https://s31.postimg.cc/tg9lnwpzf/20180507_153131-01.jpg https://s31.postimg.cc/kza3czdkr/20180505_152848-01.jpg View Quote |

Its over 26" View Quote IIRC, to qualify as an "other" and be allowed to have a VFG if over 26", it has to never have been a pistol or rifle. AFAIK, all Chargers were built as pistols and pistols are not allowed to have VFGs. Stripped AR receivers are sold as "others" already so they're ok. But since I'm on the Lite site at work and cannot see the pics, I'm making some assumptions. |
|
So all the AR pistols that are over 26" with vertical front grips are illegal? Crazy.
P.S. I have moved actions and reconfigured both, the longer barrel one is now in a long nose chassis with a bipod, no more front grip. Not that it was wrong anyway, just doesn't make sense in its new configuration. Let it go everyone Don't worry, be happy. |

I'm thinking of building a take down pistol with brace....BUT, how well do the TD models shoot? In looking over at RFC, it seems that the accuracy is all over the map- and mostly not all that good....
I'm going to build one, it's just a matter of whether it's a TD or on a Standard Charger.... |

Quoted:It's over 26" View Quote The Freedom Shoppe, in CT, was raided by ATF. It seems they're changing their tune and saying OAL is measured with stock folded because of "Firearms meeting the definition of “any other weapon” are weapons or devices capable of being concealed on the person from which a shot can be discharged through the energy of an explosive." I know, I know, they've always said it's from most extended position. Obviously, we want to wait for anything official, but, like I said, I just wanted to let everyone know. The ATF already started "collecting" (confiscating) firearms purchased from said FFL. This all started because of some fudd FFL in Vermont. |

He does it for free, so, Why Not? Shorter is better generally when it comes to suppression/velocity reduction..... See how it goes. I have a pile of ANPVS 7 cases and will mod one of those to fit whatever configuration I end up with, there is plenty of room. I bought a bunch of them for $10 apiece at a gunshow many years ago, built hell for stout.....might as well use what I have. |

What is best price and seller for the Hera or American Built folder? I expect my charger takedown to arrive this week and want to get going on parts for the brace.
No one makes a collapsing brace that would fit the charger via some adapter, do they? |
