Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 10/22 short barrels

Anybody know a source to get 10/22 blemished barrels or barrel stubs. Looking to sbr my gun, I've got a lathe and want to do some hobby machining like cutting and crowning and threading myself. I want a .920 diameter not the factory taper and can't find anywhere that has barrels for cheap. Any leads would be great. Thanks

Buy one of these and you will have lots of length to practice with.

Ar7.com has the cheapest 10/22 bull barrels I know of.

If you have all the tools than why not start with a rifled blank?

Just a lathe, no mill. I could chamber a barrel but don't know if I could do the extractor groove properly with my tools.
