I asked a similar question about my rimfire pistols and would like feedback concerning my rifles.

I have a couple of different .22lr rifles I will be using to teach my wife and daughter how to shoot; my questions are:

1. At what range do you zero your rimfire using open sights?

2. At what range do you zero your rimfire using a conventional scope?

Again, these will be training rifles used at 50 yds or less.

Thanks.

I zero all of my rimfire rifles for 50 yards, both scope & irons.

Then zero for 50 yards.

If you shoot it at 50y, zero at 50y.  Its a practical enough zero distance for 22lr regardless.

40 yards for my hunting .22s.

50 for target .22s.

I usually sight my rimfires in at the distance I shoot that particular gun at.  Most are around 50, a couple at 100.

I zeroed my 10/22 TD with a 1.5-4.5x32 scope at 25 yards and I hit all my target from 10-100 yards with very little drop.

I thought at 100 yards there was major drop, but my POI hits where my POA is.

ETA: I was going to re-zero at 50, but I was doing so well I just left the 25 yard zero alone.
