Is this a serious question?  The reason most of my barrels are threaded is for suppressors.  I would assume that this is the OP's motivation also.  Nothing more fun than a suppressed .22lr out at the range.

Nice work GAY. I use ar15 flash suppressors on my 10/22 barrels for a thread protector, but what you did there looks really good on a non tactical 22. Now, want to sell me the whole rifle?
