Yes, and it's not that fun.  The case on the SSS is the same as on a 22 short, and on extraction, the case clears the chamber wall before the bullet has left the barrel (this on a 16 in bbl). So what does that mean to you?  Lots of hot crap coming out of the ejection port!  A SBR should be fine, I think I heard that 12ish or shorter avoids this.

It cycles fine in my gun, but as Vinnie said, you're gonna get a lot of sparks and crap out of the port.

I think you are asking about the 10/22, but just in case... My 22/45 cycles it with no problems.

I just picked up a 22/45 and it cycles them just fine.  Its actually the most accurate ammo I've run through the lil guy so far.  I haven't tried it in my 10/22 yet....can't wait to pop a tree rat with it.
