I have had the opportunity to shoot the gen 2 model. According to the Rhineland website there have been some changes...

New for spring 2006, R22 with bolt hold open, precision Rhineland bolt and G3 stocks.


Does this mean that the standard stock is no more? and we can only have the HK G3 or Cetme stock? Or are these just options?

I like the idea of the hold open, is this manual or auto on last round being fired?

I'd assume the bolt holdopen will be manual. Don't see any way to run one off the 10/22 magazine.

The G3 stock will be a definite upgrade. The current airsoft stock is one of the biggest complaints on the current models. I'm going to get one of the G3s and upgrade my first-gen very, very soon.

Another one? I've been wanting to buy an R22 for a while but maybe I should wait a couple weeks for the Gen 4 or 5.

I'm hoping the Canadian importer brings in the MP5SD model Thom's got brewing, but I suspect a Gen 3 will also land beside the Gen2.

I've got a H&K G3 stock waiting for the stock adapter I ordered.
