hi there, i hope this is the correct forum.  i just bought an old old .22 rifle at an auction that was so cheap i thought "well if nothin' else it'd be a cool wall hanger".  it's got an octagon barrel and a falling block action and it's even got a saddle ring, but it's mounted in front of the trigger guard.  all i can find on it is the manufacturer that says Hopkins and Allen Arms Co Norwich, Conn. U.S.A.  it doesn't say whether it shoots .22 longs or shorts or both though.  does anyone know?  also it's got a slot for a front sight, that is dovetailed.  does anyone know what i could do about that?  thanks for any info guys.
