a) Upgrade the stock and barrel. (.920 diameter) That will give you a good solid gun.
b) Upgrade the trigger group. I like Volquartsen, but there are a lot of good companies. c) Optics. (enough said) In the end, the reciever is all you'll keep. Personally, I turned my $139 Ruger 10/22 into a $550 tack driving poodle shooter. Have fun! |

Well, none of my guns groups usually look quite that good at 50 yards but I'm pretty confident that the fault is not with the guns . . . But yeah, my stock CZ will shoot nearly as good as my tricked out 10/22 (Green Mountain stainless fluted, Boyd stock, trigger upgrades). |

yes it is... i think 1/2 inch groups at 50 yards from a cz 452 are reasonable |

Be careful van_go. A month ago, I started with a 10/22 carbine like you did and wound up building this in .17Mach2.
   And it's not even broke in yet. Don't say I didn't warn ya'!

Close. I want something light and ergonomic for hunting, yet accurate, so probably a bull barrel and a Hogue overmolded stock will do. |

It works great with the factory rotary mags. The others jam up, because of the tapered round. - How much did you invest? My experience with the 10/22 is that it is more accurate out of the box than 95% of the people who shoot them.
Unless one is going into competitive shooting, I don't see much point in spending gobs of money converting a good rifle into a marginally better one. But hey, that's just me, knock yourself out. |
