Hey all,  couple questions from a guy that isn't up on .22/.17 at _all_.

Looking at the R22 in .17M2, reports are that the .17M2 round has more distance than a .22lr, but How much?

It looks like .17M2 uses .22 Mags, is that correct?

Are there any real complaints about the R22 (other than the people saying they need foam in the stock) or .17M2 ?

Thanks alot for the input.

This is a drop chart for the .17 HMR, .17 Mach2 and 22lr. Notice how flat the .17 Mach2 is out to 125 yards compared to the 22lr or even it's big brother the .17 HMR.

The .17 Mach2 is very accurate -- the only down side is it's a little expensive compared to 22lr ammo. The .17 Mach2 works great in a stock Ruger 10/22 magazine but I can't say how well it works in any of the hi-cap mags -- somebody here on ARFCOM should be able to give some input on that. I don't own an R22 yet.
