The three things I can think of are to have a dovetail cut and an original front sight installed or
you could find a suitable military band type front sight and have that silver soldered on,
just get someone to silver solder a generic sight directly to your barrel.

All options require some more work to the barrel and later adjustment of the front sight ramp
for proper elevation.

One less labor intensive option I have been toying around with for my 10/22, albeit it is in
a RBP Evolution stock, is to install a clamp-on AR folding front sight on the barrel and
a BUIS on a rail mounted to the reciever.   The only reason I haven't done this
is because I am unsure wether the two will line up correctly.  This option is also obviously
more $$$ intensive.
