Back in the day they used to make collapsable stocks for AR7s. They weren't cheap and during the ban they were astronomically expensive. I suspect someone will get back on the band wagon and re-introduce one.

I can't remember seeing one from armalite but a while back someone had some aftermarket collapsible(or it may have been detatchable) wire stocks.

Armalite only made AR7s for a short time and never made collaspable stocks. Charter Arms picked up the license to make AR7s and then several others now make them.

What kind of price range were they?

I have an AR-7 with a telescoping stock. The stock was made by FN. The emblem has been ground off to sanitize it. Story goes they were used in Israeli jets

Do these take regular .22LR? I tried some and they extracted poorly.
It seems that the chamber marked by larger rimmed .22's and the extractor does not fully grab the normal .22 rim. Is this common? Seems it would be very easy to fix with a dremel, what are your opinions on that? |

Mitchell arms made the colapsable stock kit with vented forend. I had about 5 of these and sold them on ebay for $150 each.
Ar 7 industries made a nice one in the preban days. They may make them again now. |

Mine functions perfect.I have only shot 2. This one and a charter arms which worked ok but not perfect.Had a few faliure to feeds.

Hey FREEFALLE6. Where'd you get that big ol mag? All I have are the 3 it came with. As far as I can tell, the factory mags suck pretty bad being made out of steel, I'm looking for aluminum if possible, USGI-ish. What capacity are those long banana mags? |

AR7s tend to be ammo sensitive. Mine is an original Armalite and it prefers Winchester and Remington solids (high velocity). It will not feed CCI Stingers or other hyper velocity rounds. Yours may be different; pick up a bunch of brands and see which one works best. Justin |

I got 2 of them the year Star Trek the next gen came out 86 I think.
