I am on a buying spree of .22LR and I had purchased this one that just came to me (to DROS, still 10 days to wait).
I have to say, I have never ever gotten something really right; but this one is just spectacular. It's a time machine: a vintage Erma USM1 22 in NOS, mint condition. It's truly as new; I handled her for a while in person and metal and wood are new. Must be at least a few decades old; someone must have forgotten it in their safe all along and then, they died and the estate sale kicked in. It's one of those times... Marlin 880 SQ.
Just put a Vortex Crossfire 2 6x18 on today. Replaced Simmons 22 mag that has been on there since 2000. My eyes were just having a hard time with straight 4 power. I got high warne rings rings but need xtra high. The ao contacts the barrel a bit. Awesome awesome 22 rifle. I have an MCarbo trigger spring coming so I'm excited for that. Attached File |

TV-PressPass, Cool looking little carbine,
Is that a Charger Barrel? What Brand? Actually, I was thinking about doing something similar to Itracc's , by using one of those new factory "Tactical" 10/22's and a set of NDS Sight Sets. and an older Ruger Walnut Stock. |

I have my first Appleseed coming up in two weeks. It is gonna be tough. I'm sure it is going to be cold and wet as the weather usually is in Michigan this time of year. Here is my main rifle I will be taking. Standard Ruger 10/22 RB. BX trigger, GI cotton sling and Uncle Mike's sling swivels topped off with Williams peep sights and a brass bead front sight. I got the stock pouch from Northwoods for $8.00 over the weekend. Ruger gets $12.00 for them online. This 10/22 is pretty accurate. I can keep most of my shots in a post it note at 75 feet. I just had it out two weeks ago and she was keeping most shots in a post it at 117 feet with my elbows rested on the bench with the original trigger. I just put the BX in last weekend. Should be a fun time. I'll post how I did after the shoot. |
