I just got a Ciener kit with a 30rnd. mag. for my Ar and was just thinking what would be better. I mean the kit with a full capacity mag. cost pretty mutch the same as a 10/22, so aside from personal preferences to either gun what do you think?

Apples to oranges . The problem is that hi cap
10/22 mags (that work) are about as bad as hi caps
for the ceiner. Depends what Kind of shooting you
are looking to do. Most ceiners have only fair
accuracy and not much to be done about it,dedicated
22lr uppers are a different beast but still have
mag problemns .A 10/22 can be fixed up to shoot real nice or you can just get a 10/22T (target model)-real tackdrivers ,ya just got to live with
the 10 rounders .One part that stinks about my
DPMS 22lr upper is the blowback action puts all
manner of nasty down into your trigger groop-I
think the ceiner is the same in this regard .Great part about a ceiner or 22lr upper is your
trigger-sling-sights or red dot what have you
stays about the same for both centerfire and rf
Of course the definitive AR15 answer is as always
