Can someone please tell me how to remove the front sight from my Ruger 10/22 if it is possible?

I think it is removed same way as the rear, by hammering it out with some sort of punch, like a wooden rod that wouldn't hurt the metal. good luck though, I tried that on my rear sight and it wouldn't move at all. I got a set of truglo sights (front and rear) for mine that I want to install. guess I'll have to take it to a gunsmith
