I picked up a pelican 1450 yesterday at a surplus shop that was originally used for a laptop or sat phone.
There are holes drilled into the top and a large cutout in the back, below the hinges - probably 2.5" high and 7" long. I'll post pics later. Any ideas on what to use it for?

You can turn it into a pelican speaker box. Looks like it already has the cutout for the amp.

Build a computer in it, or use some plexi-glass and cover the holes up.

Use it for a homemade target camera system. Just make a I/O panel for the hole that holds charging jacks for the 12v batteries.

I just so happen to have several sheets (4'x8') of HDPE, some in black and some in white. I think it's all 1/6", but it might be 1/8".
