There are better options for that price. They are also super thick and depending on your plate carrier you may need to get the area where the plates go custom sewn to make room.

What he said, exactly. You can get a similar plate (Dyneema, positive buoyancy, etc.) that comes in a thinner option for less money. The DKX plates are overpriced and absurdly thick, imho. |

You are going to be paying a hefty price for most lightweight plates. Especially if you want Level 3 S.A or ICW plates. Lots of brands out there, what is your price point and do you want stand-alone or ICW?

Someone alluded to being able to purchase something similar for cheaper so I was wondering what other options were out there that were close in price and weight for Level III plate. I've not seen any other options like this. |

Midwest mass III is pretty much same. Around the same price however.

They are great plates but they serve a purpose. If you think you'll be humming around a long time and don't need the extra protection that comes form the Lvl 4 plate then they work great. They are rather thick but they fit Banshee and PIG carriers. If you plan on using it for short periods like a call, etc. go with Lvl 4 for the extra protection and you aren't wearing them forever so the weight should be manageable.
