Now I know with anything weapon/gear you really want to stick with name brand and a quality brand.  However, today we were at tractor supply, basically because we had time to kill and we figured my boy would get a kick out of the chicks there.

Anyway, I went looking at the Carhartt pants and a set of gloves that I've been looking for for a while now caught my eye.  It looks like the Oakley Assault gloves and Mechanix makes a version as well called the M-Pact 3.  I'm not usually one to go with an off brand but the feel is amazing, the stitching looked good (double all around) so I gave them a try for $25.  The grip is great!  I prefer my Hatch Specialist a little more because it's like having rubber gloves on.  But that are a lot sturdier and don't look like they'll start shredding after the slightest bit of hard use.

In addition to the knuckles being reinforced the pads of the fingertips have grippy material as does the palm and thumb interior.  The velcro'd neoprene wrist actually goes about 2-3" down my arm so they don't stop right at the wrist.

The brand is Schmidt.  I can't find this specific version on their site because I tried so I could show everyone.  But again, they seem like they are very well made.

If anyone has any experience with these please share it either way!

Only complaint I have is the one thin white strip over the metacarpals that I believe is reflective.  Any way to get rid of that?  Will permanent marker take care of it?  Oh, I also can't wear a watch or can't tighten the velcro as much if I do have one because the neoprene covers that area.

Thanks

Any thoughts/experience??

How about hiding the thin white reflective rope?

Thanks

My Camelbak M.U.L.E. had reflective strips like that. A permanent marker took care of it. Hit it a few times to make sure every bit is covered.

Oh yeah?  I'll give it a shot.  Thanks!
