I am looking for a bandoleer for my 12 gauge shotgun. It has to hold at least 25rds (1 box), and up to 50 at the most. I want something that is good quality and non-reflective. I would prefer leather, however all of the leather 12 gauge bandoleers I have seen thus far have shiny metal pieces on them. This will be used for hunting/hiking and if necessary, SHTF.

If my only option is a synthetic material (nylon for instance), then I want something that is not a POS Chinese product. I have a Vickers tactical sling for my AR, and I want the quality to be at least as good as that.

Any suggestions?

Not leather....

Avery Neoprene power belt.  I use mine for every season/reason when shotgun is the weapon of choice.

Edited to make it hot.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I guess your right, leather is a bad choice lol. I guess I'm just partial to it

So I like the idea of the pouches and the 25rd suggestion looks to be closer to what I'm looking for. I want something with shell loops built into it so that I won't have loose ammo rolling around. The only issue I have with the 25rd pouch that is pictured is that it folds out a ways and I am looking for something that can be opened and closed easily with one hand. So it looks like maybe a basic covered belt would be a good idea. I like the one that is pictured, except that I have no need for the hand-warmer pockets. For me the simpler the better. Whatever type of carrying system I choose, I need it to hold at least 25rds. So I guess I need a 25rd covered ammo belt - any suggestions on this?

Cool Thanks! Based on the reviews on the Midway website, the belt can be slung over the shoulder and used like a bandoleer. How well does this work in your experience?

Bandoleers suck.  When you start removing shells, they get all off balance.

I dunno, but it works great as a belt, with the shells in front of you.

Condor makes a MOLLE shotgun pouch which holds 12 rounds in elastic loops and has a cover which is secured by hook and loop.  They sell for about $10 each.  You can mount them on a vest, a MOLLE belt, or even on a regular belt, if you desire.  They come in black, tan, green, ACU, and Multicam.

CheaperThanDirt carries them, although they list them as being made by ModGear.  (That just means they got them from the same Chinese factory as Condor, and worked out a deal to use their own brand name.  They're the same thing.)  If you order from CTD, be advised that the website says they hold 10 rounds, but the pictures do show 12 rounds inside the pouch.  Just another example of CTD being right on top of their game.

I think for the price, the belt is the way to go. I load up a couple of them every morning im out during dove season. wear one and put the other in my backpack. Just swap out when one get empty or reload when I get back to the truck.

+1.

They also tend to slip off of your shoulder at inopportune times.

Go with the belts. Two of them will carry just as much as one of the big bandoleers and won't be nearly as much of a pain in the ass.

good advice, bandoleers don't stay in place, slip, fall off your shoulder when you run, etc. go with a belt, or pouch.
