I got a helmet but the the sticker is missing as to who made the helmet.

Helmet marking are

08 in a circle––-I take this as the year is was made

XL - 1––––-It is an XL but I'm not sure what the 1 stand for

SDS–––– I have now been told this is from Specialty Defense Systems

I just need someone to confirm this.

I guess everything you said is correct.
as for the number (1) next to the size (XL)... I think it's the depth of the helmet.
