Are CPC plates, specifically TC4B (triple curve, level IV in conjunction IIIA), single or multiple hit rated?

"The Ceramic Protection Corp TC4B triple-curve ceramic plate (left) is rated to Level IV when used in conjunction with a Level IIIA vest to stop fragments. It's pretty light, at about 6 lbs and will stop multiple (spaced) rounds of .308 Nato or one round of 30-06 AP."

Actually it depends on the round. As you know, level III rating means that the plate passed 6 hits of .308 soft core. Level IV stops 1 round of 30.06 AP.

So it's only rated to be multi-hit against non-AP stuff. Bear in mind that these standards are set forth by NIJ. It may very well perform even better, but it's only tested to the NIJ standard.

hope it helps...
