I am looking for a chest harness like a SOTech Hellcat/EssTac Boar that has a bib, padded shoulder straps, and a 100oz hydration carrier.

Would prefer for it to be in Multicam if possible.

Ideas?

http://www.optactical.com/hepashsthyba.html  This will work with either the hellcat of boar.  But a bib might be a pain, the straps adjust in the front witch leave little room for installing a bib.

What are your needs for the bib, ie what are you putting on it?  Putting anything thicker than an ID panel on the bib will interfear with pulling mags out of the harnesses.

I have also been thinking of getting something like this.  Which of these would be better quality, The TT MAV of the SO Tech Hellcat?

I was looking for something lightweight.  I was thinking of getting a weesatch, but that is just too much, I don't need to carry 10-12 mags, for me right now.

Anyone here own either or both of these?

I didn't like the idea of a bib to begin with. Mainly, I thought it would interfere with accessing blouse pockets. However, after seeing some pics (specifically here in this thread) I am starting to like the idea of a little extra real estate. I would only hang an Emdom Admin panel or an EGL Haffafug on the bib, so I don't really gain much so it is far less of a priority than a hydration carrier.

I like the look of plate carriers, but since I don't ever see really having and carrying plates, I think I am best served by a chest rig.

I personally use the London Bridge Trading Company's split chest vest.

S.O. Tech makes a padded harness that interfaces perfectly with both their Hellcat and the EssTac Boar series.  Both use 2" buckles, you just have to make sure they're the same KIND of 2" buckle.  I'm fairly certain that they are.  You would have a much easier time of mounting a hydration carrier to the SOTech harness than to a Tactical Tailor X-harness.  The X-Harness also has to be modded to use 2" webbing and buckles if you were to use it on the Hellcat or the Boar.

There are some major differences betwixt the Hellcat and the Boar, so look at both and see which one fits your needs.

footrat - thanks. Can you elaborate a little on what some of the major differences are? I guess I thought they were almost exactly alike.

The SO Tech gear has an optional hydration carrier that clips right into the basic rig.

You might want to consider staying with the wide flat standard straps.  They are just as comfortable as the padded straps, and they don't annoy your back  as much when you are sitting in a vehicle or wearing a ruck.

I've got a Hellcat on the way, I needed more room in the front for M203 grenades. Will let y'all know how it works out.

I have not posted pics as of yet, so until I figure it out, here is the link. http://www.londonbridgetrading.com/main.html  It is the EOD version of the vest. I hope this helps.

I just got the Boar but have run the Hellcat, I personally prefer the Boar Now for many of the reasons listed above and this one below, see my post further down the page .

The Boar Rides better than any chest rig Ive ever had with internal mag pouches because the are spaces between pouches to allow vest to bend around your or Body Armor.
I would ditch the Bib idea, I used to use them but they just get in the way and are extra weight because anything mounted to them impedes extracting mags. If it has another use like Holding a plate, thats fine, but even then I started running it slick. or use pals for pens or chemlights or Scissors and such.

Go Boar!!
