Beretta 1201 or Remington 11-87?

[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Beretta 1201 or Remington 11-87?

I need an opion from you fine folks....which one is better, more reliable, etc. etc. etc? My local gunshop has 1 of each and I'm torn over which one to get.

The 1201 Beretta uses the same inertia action as the Benelli M1. In fact it is almost the same shotgun. (Beretta owns Benelli) In my opinion, after owning and shooting several examples of both the 1201 and M1, the Beretta is just as reliable but recoils a whole lot more with the same loads...for me even more than any of my 870s.

The 11-87 is a gas operated action. Less felt recoil but IMO not as reliable across the board with heavy loads as the Beretta / Benelli.

I love my 1187. Mostly I shoot trap with it. It is perfectly setup for Turkey with the 23" ribbed.

My Moss 590 ghost ring, is my tactical house gun though.

The 1187 is more enjoyable to shoot. Very reliable for me. When heading to the range it is the one I grab. It sat as my house gun before I had the 590. In fact I was looking for a 18.5" tactical barrel for it until I found the 590 so cheap in the pawn shop. Now I want a longer trap barrel for it.
