Was just cleaning my new Mossberg 500 for the first time after shooting it, and I noticed that the very bottom of the front sight bead screw thingy can be felt from inside the barrel (i.e., it protrudes into the barrel noticably). It's not much, but it does stick out from the roof of the bore a slight amount.

This is my first shotgun with the bead mounted directly to the barrel (870 has rifle sights for the slug bore and the Norinco 97 trench gun has the bead mounted to the heat shield) so I'm not sure if it's really supposed to protrude like that.

Thanks

Either that or it will launch itself into space and never be seen again!

If it launches itself into space, you will then know I was wrong.
