I am not a big shotgunner.  I have owned only 5 in my lifetime:

Remington 870
Remington 870 over-folder
Mossberg 500
Benelli M3 Super90
SxS Coach gun

I sold them all off except for the M3 Super90 which I will always keep (I like the switch from pump to semi).

I am looking at getting the Fabarm FP6 - the "tactical" version with the rail and heatshield, etc.  and will SBR it down to 14".  Before I go that far, I want to know if it's a good shotgun.  Any pluses?  Bad things?  Opinions?  This would just be a "fun" gun.

Thanks.

Mine has never worked correctly.  About every 3rd shell will not feed correctly into the barrel.  The lifter does not lift it up all the way and the shell just jams right into the bottem of the barrel and stops.

I would just get a 870 and be done with it.

I have had the opposite experience. My FP6 has been flawless. I have used the 870 in the Police Academy and in comparison the FP6 is lighter and quicker to pump and put shot on target. Also with the ability to choke you can expand its effectiveness; within reason.

Now the downside...

Parts are not at every gun store. If you want parts and chokes I suggest visiting Arizona Gun Runners on line and ordering them. Also the Wilson 870 front sling ring works great for slings.

I guess you can add a +1 for the "good" side of the poll, I have another person who is on Glock Talk who likes his FP6

Guess I got the leftover parts model...

I love my FP6.  Haven't had a single issue. . . fun to shoot!
