I have a Remington 870, 18" barrel and was wondering which lenght will fit my gun best? A +2 or +3 mag extension.? Right now I looking at choate extensions. The 870 holds four 2 3/4 shells. Thanks for the help.

The +2 extension is going to be about flush with the 18" barrel while a +3 will extend past the barrel. In the pictures below, the black 870 has an 18" barrel and the factory +2 extension while the green 870 has a 20" barrel and the factory +3 extension. You can see that with the +3 extension it sticks past the 20" barrel about 1/2". Also, the Choate extensions are great stuff but if you go with a +2 extension you may want to also look at the Wilson Combat extension. It's a good product at a reasonable price.
