Alrighty.  I shot my Benelli M4 for the first time yesterday and it's definitely not going to cycle the lighter, target/trap type loads that you can find at wally world and what not for cheap.  Even Winchester AA won't make it cycle.

I'm going to break it in with some heavy buck and slug loads, but I still want a reliable, heavier loading that I can use for 3 gun comps without worry.

Can anyone here suggest what kind of load I can use that it will cycle with?  I used some heavy pheasent number 5 shot yesterday and it did cycle, but that stuff is $12-15 a box.  I'd also prefer it be a number 6 loading (or heavier 7 1/2).

If anyone knows where I can buy such a load in BULK, I'd appreciate that.

Perfect!  I'll have to check them out.  Hopefully they have enough energy to cycle the gun.  The 7 1/2s will about half the time.

I'm thinking once I break it in with full power buck loads, it will cycle all the time, but it remains to be seen.

I use these for tower shoots. They are half the price of the Express line of shells and pack a good punch. MIKE.

Are they too stout for 3 gun, or will I be able to shoot fast with them?

Wally World sells Remington Sporting Clay loads for about $4.50 a box (25 count) here. They are high velocity and should work the action of your Benelli.

Most Benelli's need a break in of about 6-10 boxes of 3" full dram shells.  After the break-in start experimenting w/ loads.  My m3 needed this done.

Break the gun in first.  It should cycle 1 1/8 oz handicap loads with ease.  Ever think of taking up handloading?  A evening with a MEC can be very productive.
