Quoted: I have a Rem. 870 Express that shoots 3 inch shells. I've had it about one year and experience ongoing problems with it. The biggest problem is that after a shell is shot it will not eject. The shell is stuck in the barrel. It takes a cleaning rod down the barrel plus pulling down on the slide to eject the shell.

You need to pull the barrel and the bolt out of the action. Take a stone and break the locking edge of the hood, and the very edge of the bolt lock. These two area's can have burs, and keep the action from unlocking clean with the expanded shot hull forced back against the bolt.
The other problem is that I have problemsloading shells when the action is pumped. Only when I pump the action and twist the forend clockwise will the shotgun load the next shell. I thinkit has something to do with the rails that release the shell from the tube mag. Any help would be appreicated.
Thanks, EJ

When you pull out the bolt from the action (read FCG out of the action, then reach in and press each side spring to unlock the charging bars from the receiver), check the shell release catch/spring (it will be one of the springs that you press against the frame to remove the charging bar/carrier) for crap wedged under the spring. Also, with the forearm and charging bars/carrier in hand, check the inside of the forearm for rub marks. Sometimes the forearm is not installed true on the carrier/charging bars, and you will need to re-install the forearm so it doesn't rub.
